Don’t Let Fear or Anxiety Prevent Your Dental Work

Sedation dentistry in La Mesa

During your first visit, the doctor will meet with you and discuss your sedation options.

At this time, the doctor will review your medical/dental history and complete an exam. Any necessary x-rays will be taken and reviewed by the doctor.

Together, you and the doctor can create a treatment plan and answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Sedation:

Inhaled during your appointment through your nose, Nitrous Oxide inhalation provides sedation, analgesia and euphoria (relaxes, reduces pain, makes you feel good). It has quick onset of action, fast elimination (kicks in fast and wears off in minutes – this means you can stand up, walk out and drive home from your appointment on your own).

Oral Conscious Sedation:

This is a prescription medication taken before your appointment. We offer a range of prescription options from anxiolysis to somnolence-inducing medication (anxiety pills to sleeping pills) This option requires a responsible adult to escort you to and from your appointment.

Noise canceling headphones:

If the sounds associated with a dental visit makes you anxious, we’ve got you covered! We can provide you with noise canceling headphones to drown out the noises around you.

Aromatherapy:

Another option to help put you at ease is the use of essential oils. We can diffuse essential oils in the room to help relax you and reduce your anxiety.

Numbing gel:
